Margo Baumgart is an award-winning senior broadcast producer and programming executive with over 30 years of experience in the TV and digital media space. Most recently, she was an executive producer for Steve Harvey, managing a producing team that created a large slate of editorial and advertorial content that generated over $50 million in sales of Steve Harvey’s L’Evate You health and wellness products on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. She also created advertorial digital/social marketing campaigns for Drew Barrymore in support of Dr. Kellyann’s Peri+ Menopause supplement.
Margo spent over two decades at Disney/ABC News. She was showrunner and head of the 8 AM hour of Good Morning America for over 10 years, where she supervised all aspects of production for the daily morning program, leading a team of 50+ staffers. She also oversaw coverage of large special events such as GMA’s 40th anniversary program and the opening of Shanghai Disney on GMA with Robin Roberts. Prior to that role, Margo was a Senior Producer, managing a department of 30 producers and personally writing and producing thousands of tape and live segments. During her tenure, she produced over 3,000 broadcasts and was part of the senior team that led GMA to #1. Margo created numerous award winning and highly successful long-lasting franchises and series that are still running to this day, such as Steals & Deals, GMA’s Breakfast in Bed, and GMA at the Oscars. Margo prides herself on the strong relationships she develops with the talent she works with, including Robin Roberts, George Stephanopolous, Diane Sawyer, Michael Strahan, Gayle King, Steve Harvey, Juju Chang, and Deborah Roberts. She is also credited with helping launch talents such as Dr. Jennifer Ashton, Cameron Mathison, and chef Emeril Lagasse into TV correspondent roles.
Margo’s other roles have included working as a Supervising Producer at the syndicated daily daytime talk show Nick Cannon, where she ran the first half hour and managed its staff, editorial content, and daily hot topics. She also served as a Senior Producer at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health during the COVID-19 pandemic, producing live events on Facebook and YouTube that provided the public with critical health programming. Margo has earned 7 Emmys, 2 Peabody Awards, A DuPont, along with a coveted Gracie and a James Beard award for Best TV Food Journalism. Margo received a BA in Political Science from the University of Michigan and is highly respected as a passionate programmer, mentor, and leader fueled by creative ideas and exceptional content.
